Dendrolagus pulcherrimus (lat.) Is a species of wood kangaroo native to the island of New Guinea .

Lives in the mountains of Torricelli, Sandown Province, Papua New Guinea at an altitude of 680 to 1120 meters above sea level. This is a type of mountain rainforest.
The threat to the species is represented by hunting by locals for meat, as well as habitat loss due to the transfer of forests to agricultural land. Low-lying forests are cut down for the installation of oil palm plantations. The species is not present in any of the conservation zones.
