Afzalov Gamil Gimazetdinovich (May 23, 1921 - August 20, 2003) - Tatar satirist poet, national poet of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1991). Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR (1958).

Biography

Afzalov Hamil Gimazetdinovich (pseudonym Hamil Afzal) was born on May 23, 1921 in the village. Taktalachuk Aktanyshsky district of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in a peasant family.

In 1931, his father was sent as a "fist" to the construction of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works . Gamil studied at the Tatar seven-year school number 35 in Magnitogorsk . [1] In 1937 he entered the Troitsk teacher training school, but a year later he left school due to health reasons.

From 1940 to 1949 worked as a mechanic in the mechanical workshop of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and studied in the Tatar drama circle, wrote poetry. Later he became the leader of this circle.

In 1949, due to poor health, he left work. For several months he worked as a commandant of the hostel. Then the head worked. weaving workshop of the Bolshevik promartels. For health reasons, in 1954 he went to see his aunt in Bashkortostan. Until 1964 he lived in the Kaltasinsky district in the villages of Sharipovo and Zabolotskoye.

In 1964 he moved to Almetyevsk .

The first collection of his poems “Kar Sulary” (“Meltwater”) was published in 1957. Gamil Afzal is the author of about forty books printed in Tatar, Bashkir and Russian. He was awarded the State Prize of Tatarstan named after Tatarstan for the collection of poems “Isla Kichler” (1977), for verses from the cycle “Borylam da Karyim” G. Tukay.

He gained popularity as a comedian and satirist.

Family: wife, Nafisa Ganievna, three daughters.

A collection of poems “Spring Water” (“Kar Sulary”, 1957), “The Word of Conscience” (“Vөҗdan sүze”, 1958), “The World is Beautiful” (“Dnya Matur”, 1959), “Willows” (“Өянкеләр мёы”, 1966), Heritage (Miras, 1969), Believe me (Yshanygiz, 1971), Autumn Garden (Kazge Bakcha, 1974), prose. books of miniatures and humor-books “On Long Winter Evenings” (“Kyshky ozyn kichlәrdә”, 1975).

He wrote poems for children.
