Type of battleship Ajax - two battleships of the third rank, created for the Royal Navy. They belonged to the so-called large 74-gun ships, as they carried 24-pound guns on the upper gun decks, unlike the usual 74-guns, which were armed with 18-pound guns. The design of ships like Ajax was an elongated version of the HMS Invincible .
