Competitions in the super combined in men's skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics took place on February 14th . The venue of the competition was the ski resort Rosa Khutor . Competitions in the downhill began at 10:00 local time ( UTC + 4 ), they were postponed an hour earlier relative to the original schedule. Slalom started at 15:30. 50 athletes from 23 countries took part in the men's super-combination, 34 people were classified in the final protocol. The 2010 Olympic champion in this discipline was the American skier Bode Miller , this time he took the sixth place.

34-year-old Ivica Kostelic won silver in combination at the third Olympics in a row. He also has a silver of the 2010 Olympic Games in slalom. No one has previously managed to win four silver Olympic medals in alpine skiing. It should be noted that the director of the slalom track, in which the Croat managed to win back the gap after the downhill, was Ivica’s father, Ante Kostelic .

Sandro Villetta became the first Swiss player to win gold in a combination / super-combination at the Olympics. Sandro has never been in his career even in the top three in the super combined at the World Cup. Christoph Innerhofer brought Italy the first medal in combination at the Olympics since 1992.

After the downhill race, the Norwegian Kjetil Yansrud was in the lead, but in the slalom he showed only the 13th time and eventually became the fourth. In general, none of the skiers who showed the six best results in the downhill as a result could not win a medal. Slovak Adam Zhampa showed the best time in the slalom (only Sandro Villetta lost to Zampe in the slalom less than one second) and due to this he rose from the 27th place after the downhill to the final fifth.
