Stylops borealis (lat.) Is a fan-winged species of the genus Stylops from the family Stylopidae . Japan ( Hokkaido ) [1] . The total length of the males is 4.47 mm; rear wing length 2.8 mm. The length of the head along with the thorax is about 3 mm. Antennae 6-segmented. The length of the female is 8.7 mm; cephalothorax length 1.06 mm. Parasites of bees of the species Andrena (Taeniandrena) ezoensis ( Andrena , Andrenidae ). Close to the species Stylops thwaitei , found in Europe on the bees Andrena (Taenzizndrena) ovatula . The species was first described in 1985 by Japanese entomologists Teiji Kifune (Department of Parasitology, School of Medicine, , Fukuoka ) and Yoshihiro Hirashima; Entomological Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University , Fukuoka Japan ) [1] [2] [3] . In one of the new works on the genus Stylops , during the analysis of DNA by the authors (Straka et al., 2015), it is considered as a supposed synonym of the species? = Stylops thwaitesi Perkins, 1918 (in the status of “Supposed new junior subjective synonym”, which for 2018 is not confirmed by relevant specialized databases, for example, Eol.org and Strepsiptera database) [4] [5] .
