Stylops japonicus (lat.) - a species of fan-winged insects of the genus Stylops from the family Stylopidae . Japan ( Kyushu ) [1] . The total length of the abdomen of females is about 4 mm. Cephalothorax length 1.05 mm, maximum width 0.95 mm; intermandibular distance of 0.14 mm. It is characterized by the subtriangular form of cephalothorax with rounded corners; the mouth is transverse. Parasites of bees of the species Andrena (Andrena) benefica ( Andrena , Andrenidae ). Close to the species Stylops nitidae , found in Europe on bees Andrena (Melandrena) nitida . The species was first described in 1985 by Japanese entomologists Teiji Kifune (Department of Parasitology, School of Medicine, , Fukuoka ) and Yoshihiro Hirashima; Entomological Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University , Fukuoka Japan ) [1] [2] [3] .
