The mixed relay 2 × 6 km for women + 2 × 7.5 km for men in biathlon at the 2014 Winter Olympics was held on February 19 . The competition was attended by 16 teams. The venue was the Laura ski and biathlon complex. Competitions began at 18:30 local time ( UTC + 4 ). The mixed relay was one of eight disciplines that debuted in the Winter Olympics. The victory in the race was won by the Norwegian team , which used additional cartridges at only one of 8 lines (at the first stage, Tur Berger spent seven rounds from a standing position to close all targets).

40-year-old Ole Einar Björndalen won his 13th Olympic medal in his career, which no one had previously sought at the Winter Olympics. By the number of gold medals of the Winter Olympic Games, Björndalen equaled the record holder of these competitions with skier Björn Delhi (8 each). 28-year-old Emil Hegle Svendsen became the 4-time Olympic champion.

Daria Domracheva from Belarus, who had already won three gold in personal races on the Laura tracks by that time, did not compete in her team, she was given rest in front of the women's relay.
