Karakai ( Serb. Karakj ) is a settlement (village) in the community of Zvornik , which belongs to the Entity of the Republic of Serbian , Bosnia and Herzegovina . Located 4 km north-east of the center of Zvornik , on the banks of the Drina River. It is an urban settlement, a suburb of Zvornik [2] .

The population of the village of Karakai according to the 2013 census was 3,021 people [1] [3] .
History
The settlement was formed from the village Yardan ( Serbian Јardan ) and part of the town of Zvornik .
The ethnic composition of the population of Yardan according to the 1991 census:

- Yugoslavs - 14 (0.91%),
