Tippi Benjamin Okanti Degre (born June 4, 1990), a Frenchwoman who spent her childhood in Namibia , among animals and natives. [1] After moving to Paris with her parents, she returned to Africa in order to make six nature documentaries for the Discovery Channel . She is also known as a tiger ranger in Fort Boyard , off the coast of France, which was the scene for a popular international game show.

Biography
Tippi was born in Namibia , where her parents Alan Degre and Sylvia Robert worked as freelance wildlife photographers . [2] [3] She was named after Tippi Hedren . [4] While in Namibia, Tippi made friends with wild animals such as the 28-year-old African elephant Abu, a leopard nicknamed J&B, crocodiles , lion cubs , giraffes , garnet Garnett , striped mongoose , ostrich , meerkats , zebra baby , cheetah , caracal , snake , african gray parrot , giant frogs and chameleons . [5] She also made friends among the Aboriginal tribes of the Bushmen and the Himba of Kalahari , who taught her how to speak their language and how to survive using plant roots and berries . [five]
Tippi later moved with her parents to Madagascar , and then to France, where she became a celebrity. [6] A book about her adventures (Tippi of Africa, ISBN 978-1-86872-083-5 ) has been published and translated into several languages. [7] [8] She was on the 2001 bestseller list compiled by Der Spiegel news magazine. [9] My book of Africa ( ISBN 978-1-77007-029-5 ) is the best-selling novel about Tippy's adventure life in Namibia. She also created her own site and made 6 documentaries on nature for the Discovery Channel in Africa. [5] In Paris, France, Tippy entered a local public school for the first two years, but then studied at home , as it turned out that she had little in common with other children.
