Father Eutyches served in the 289th Korotoyaksky regiment of the 73rd infantry division .
Member of the First World War .
July 9, 1915 with a cross in his hand led the regiment to break out of the encirclement and died in battle near the village of Mozheikany . [2]

The correspondent of the newspaper Novoye Vremya wrote about the battle: “A small, with a large gray beard, with a face of childlike kindness and faith, Father Eutychius came out with his mouth from the edge of the forest, holding a cross over his head, went under the fierce fire of the enemy chain and went on. And others ran ahead of him. An enemy bullet wounded a priest in the shoulder. He was immediately bandaged, and he again went forward until he fell backward ... ” [3]
