Scoloberotha necatrix

Scoloberotha necatrix (lat.) - a fossil species of retina of the genus Scoloberotha from the family of Berotida ( Berothidae ). Found in the Lower Cretaceous ( Albanian ) Burmese amber of Asia (Kachin, Tanai Village, Myanmar ) [1] . The species was first described in 2008 by American entomologists Michael Angel ( Engel M. ) and David Grimaldi ( Grimaldi DA ; USA ). Together with other fossil lacewing insects such as Paraberotha acra , Banoberotha enigmatica , Haploberotha persephone , Sinosmylites rasnitsyni , Ethiroberotha elongata , Plesiorobius sibiricus , Iceloberotha kachinensis , Jersiberotha tauberorum , Dasyberotha eucharis , Araripeberotha fairchildi , Jersiberotha myanmarensis , Iceloberotha simulatrix are among the oldest representatives berotide and the entire Neuroptera order as a whole, which was shown in 2011 during the audit of the paleo-fauna by paleoentomologists Vladimir Makarkin ( Biological and Soil Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Vladivostok ) and his Chinese colleagues Ts. Yang and D. Zhen ( Qiang Yang, Dong Ren ; College of Life Sciences, Capital Normal University, Beijing , China ) [1] [2] [3] [4] .
