Yantanglest ( lat. Yangtanglestes ) is a genus of extinct mammals from the mesonichid family, known from the Paleocene of China . It is the oldest representative of the mesonichia squad [1] [2] .

Yantanglest appeared in the Early Paleocene; fossil remains of representatives of this genus are found up to the Zeeland tier (Middle Paleocene). In the Middle Paleocene, sympatrically coexisted with the genera , synonix ( Sinonyx ), and supposedly ascending to it). It was characterized by small size and thin jaws [2] [3] .
