Biography
Anatoly Maslov was born on November 15, 1925 in Tver . He graduated from junior high school. In 1943, Maslov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From the same year - on the fronts of World War II, he was a shooter of the 239th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 76th Guards Rifle Division of the 61st Army of the Central Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .
On the night of September 27-28, 1943, Maslov was one of the first to cross the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Mysy, Repkinsky district, Chernihiv region of the Ukrainian SSR, and took an active part in the battles for the capture and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore, distinguishing himself during the capture of German trenches. [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, Red Army soldier Anatoly Maslov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Order of Lenin [2] .
He was also awarded the medal "For Military Merit" [3] .
He died on the outskirts of Danzig on March 15, 1945 [4] .
Memory
In honor of Maslov, a street and a school in Tver were named [1] .
