Biography
Alexander Maslov was born on July 30, 1922 in the village of Putyatino (now the Nekrasovsky District of the Yaroslavl Region ). He graduated from seven classes of the school. In 1939 he moved to Moscow , where he worked as a mechanic at a factory. In parallel with work, he was engaged in a flying club. In 1941, Maslov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1943, he graduated from the Perm Military Aviation Pilot School. Since October of the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By March 1945, the Guard, Second Lieutenant Alexander Maslov was a senior pilot of the 74th Guards Assault Air Regiment ( 1st Guards Assault Air Division , 1st Air Army , 3rd Belorussian Front ). By that time, he had made 103 sorties to attack accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his important objects, inflicting heavy losses on him. On April 13, 1945, Maslov died in aerial combat in East Prussia . He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Pereslavskoye, Zelenogradsky District, Kaliningrad Region [1] .
Rewards
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for the “exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and the courage and heroism shown in battles with the German invaders” of the guard, junior lieutenant Alexander Maslov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Order of Lenin , two orders of the Red Banner , orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degrees [1] .
