Biography
Born on January 11, 1911 in the village of Gribanovka (now an urban-type village of Gribanovsky, Voronezh region ) in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1939. In 1934 he graduated from the Chemical Engineering Institute . He worked at a factory in the city of Voronezh .
In the Red Army in 1934-1935 and since 1937. He graduated from the military aviation school of pilots. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 .
The flag-navigator of the air squadron of the 49th fighter aviation regiment, senior lieutenant Vladimir Peshkov, by March 1940 made 99 sorties to the rear of the enemy for reconnaissance and attack of military facilities, shot down three enemy aircraft in air battles.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 20, 1940 “for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front against the Finnish White Guard and courage and heroism shown at the same time”, the senior lieutenant Peshkov Vladimir Nikolaevich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " .
