Ladygin, Fedor Ivanovich

Fyodor Ivanovich Ladygin (born March 10, 1937 , the village of Mazikino, Kursk Region ) is a Russian military commander and colonel general . Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (1992-1997).

Born March 12, 1937 in the village of Mazikino, Korochansky district (now the Belgorod region ). In 1954, he graduated from the ten classes of the Kharkov Air Force School with a silver medal. Then in 1959 he graduated from the Air Force Engineering Academy. Zhukovsky . He also graduated from the Higher Academic Courses of senior personnel at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces. Since 1959 - served in combat units, then at the Research Institute of the Strategic Missile Forces . In 1964-1973 - employee of the Research Institute-4 of the USSR Ministry of Defense [1] .

In 1973 he began serving as a senior officer in the GRU of the General Staff of the USSR Armed Forces.

In 1989-1990 - Head of the Information Department of the GRU General Staff. In 1990-1992 - Head of the Legal Department of the General Staff.

In September 1992, he was appointed head of the GRU .

In May 1997, he was relieved of his post due to retirement. He worked as deputy director of a cane sugar company from Cuba. Vice President of the Union of Military Intelligence Veterans. Member of the Expert Council of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs. In November 1999, he was nominated to the State Duma of the third convocation in the Novooskolsky constituency as an independent candidate. I lost the election.

Married. Has a son and daughter, granddaughter, grandson and 3 great-grandchildren.
