Whalfera wiszniewskii (lat.) Is a fossil species of retinal-winged insects from the genus Whalfera from the family Rhachiberothidae . Found in the Eocene Baltic amber of Europe ( Poland ) [1] . The species was first described in 2010 by paleoentomologists V. Makarkin and J. Kupriyanovich (VN Makarkin and J. Kupryjanowicz) [2] . Along with other fossil species of retinal-winged insects, such as Spinoberotha mickaelacrai , Libanosemidalis hammanaensis , Chimerhachiberotha acrasarii , Alboconis cretacica , Oisea celinea , Eorhachiberotha burmitica , Phthanoconis burmitica , Retrieraeonon , Glarieoconis . The species Whalfera venatrix was previously described, with which they form the genus Whalfera [1] [3] [4] .
