Biography
Temir Masin was born on January 10, 1907 in the village of Zhyekkum (now the Bokeyordinsky district of the West Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan ). After graduating from a pedagogical school, he worked first as a teacher, then as a director of a secondary school, later he was the head of the district, deputy head of the political department of the machine-tractor station. In July 1941, Masin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since August of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In 1942, Masin graduated from junior lieutenant courses [1] .
By June 1944, Captain Temir Masin commanded the 8th Rifle Company of the 922nd Rifle Regiment of the 250th Rifle Division of the 3rd Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the Byelorussian SSR . On June 25, 1944, Masin, at the head of a group of fighters, repelled a German counterattack in the area of the village of Ozerany, the Rogachev district of the Gomel region . On July 1, 1944, the Masina company cut the Mogilev - Minsk highway near the village of Staraya Martyanovka of the Berezinsky district of the Minsk region and repelled eight German counterattacks, destroying about 800 enemy soldiers and officers, 74 cars and 31 motorcycles. In that battle, Masin was shell-shocked , but continued to fight [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945 for “successful command of the rifle company, exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown”, Captain Temir Masin was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 5535 [1] .
After the war, with the rank of Major, Masin was sacked. He lived in the Ural region , worked as a secretary of the Taipak district committee of the CPSU (b). On August 8, 1947, he participated in extinguishing a fire in the steppe, trying to save a local resident and collective farm property. From the burns he died. He was buried in Uralsk [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Masin, a street in Uralsk and a school in his homeland were named, an obelisk in Uralsk and a bust in the aul Bazartob of the Taipak district were installed [1] .
