(2629) Rudra ( Skt. रुद्र , rudra IAST ) is an asteroid that belongs to the dark spectral class B. It was discovered on September 13, 1980 by the American astronomer Charles Kowal at the Palomar Observatory and named after Rudra , the Vedic deity associated with death, hunting and thunderstorm [1] .
