Title
The street is named after Yaroslav the Wise (c. 978-1054) - the Grand Duke of Kiev , the author of the first in the territory of Ancient Rus code of laws " Russian Truth ".
Also in Melitopol there is an alley of the same name .
History
The exact date of the appearance of the street is unknown. It was first mentioned in 1923 in the description of land holdings.
In 1924, the street is referred to as the former Simferopolskaya. [2]
At that time, the area between Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue and the railway was called New Melitopol (now this name has a different area ). In 1928, the street, together with this district, officially entered the city limits. [2]
In 2016, Rosa Luxemburg Street was renamed in honor of Yaroslav the Wise , according to the law on decommunization.
