Geographical position

It is located 4 km south-west of Kizilyurt, on the right bank of the discharge channel of the Chiryurt HPP .

History

The name is translated from Kumyk as "flowering vineyard."

In 1819, one of the first major battles in the history of the Caucasian War took place in the vicinity of the Bavtugay aul.
