About the album
Work on the disc began in 2012 . The post-production of the record was funded by a campaign conducted by the Kickstarter website [4] . In December 2012, the first demos of upcoming album songs appeared on YouTube . On March 12, 2013, the track list and album cover were released [5] . On March 13th, with the support of Kickstarter, a digital version of How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence was released . The release on physical media took place on May 14, 2013 [6] [7] .
The album has a heavier sound, unlike the previous work of Mindless Self Indulgence If . The music of How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence traces some elements of industrial metal , as well as rap rock [2] . From the point of view of the lyrics, the album is more politically oriented than the rest of the group's releases [2] .

- The title of the album is a reference to the title of the film Dr. Strangelove, or How I Stopped Being Afraid and Loved the Bomb . Later, the band members admitted that during the recording of the album they were influenced by the film [8] .
