Description
Body length 4.5 mm, width 1.75 mm, height 1.65 mm. Antennae 9-segmented, the club consists of 1 segment. The scape of the antennae is long, reaching the middle of the protorox. The species was first described in 1972 under the name Phyllobius sobrinus Voss, 1972 . It differs from the other two closely related genera from Baltic amber ( Arostropsis and Paonaupactus Voss, 1953 ) in the structure of the antennae, eyes and chest and size. Together with the species Protonaupactus microphthalmus Zherikhin , 1971 and Protonaupactus viridis (Wanat & Boroviec, 1986), it was included in the genus Protonaupactus Zherikhin, 1971 , which was shown during the audit of the paleo fauna in 2011 by Russian entomologists Nikolai Yunakov and Alexander Zreich, RAS Petersburg ) [1] [2] [3] .
