Biography
Jop Everstein made his football debut in 1938 at the age of 17 with ADO Den Haag . His first match was on November 13, 1938 against Xerxes , who won the match with a score of 5: 2. Everstein gradually became a technically gifted constructive forward with good driving skills. His best goal in his career was the ball, which he scored on June 21, 1942 against the AGOVV . Everstein brought his team ahead with a score of 2: 2, as a result, ADO won with a score of 5: 2 and won the championship. The following year, Everstein also became a champion, his team two points ahead of Feyenoord [2] . He played for the club for 17 seasons, in which he scored 75 goals in 161 games [3] . On April 11, 1955, he resigned after playing his last match against Brabantia . After the player’s career ended, he became a coach of the OLIVEO club, and in 1965 Everstein became the technical director of ADO Den Haag [1] .
Yop Everstein died on Saturday November 2, 2013. After his death, only two players survived who won the championship of the Netherlands 1941/42 and 1942/43 seasons, these are Dolph Niesen and Pete Everstein (Jop's older brother) [1] .
