History
The first immigrants were 7 families from the village of Popovka, Chernihiv province . In the decay between the hills they founded a village, naming it like his native village in his homeland - Popovka. The village was gradually built up. The recently built church in Popovka was the most beautiful in the county, with it there was a parish elementary school. The village was famous for its gardens.
During the Civil War, many residents actively participated in the partisan movement. In 1930, the collective farm "named after May 1" appeared, in 1931 - "Hammer and Sickle", and in 1934 they merged into the collective farm "Collective Labor". During dispossession and repression, many gardens were cut down. Before the Great Patriotic War, it was one of the largest collective farms in the region. During the war years, 75 residents died on the fronts. In the center of the village he built a monument. [2] .
