Sarunas Kuleshus [1] ( lit. Šarūnas Kuliešius , born February 9, 1977 in Elektrėnai ) is a Lithuanian hockey player , center forward and head coach of the Vilnius club Hockey Panks .

Career

Club

Pupil of the school of the Lithuanian club "Energy" (Elektrenai city). At the age of 18, in 1995 he made his debut as a member of the team in the framework of the championship of the East European Hockey League . In the 2001/2002 season he played for the Neman in the Belarusian Extra-League [2] , in 2004 he left for Sweden, where he played in the First Division. From 2005 to 2007, he played for the English club Solihull Barons, which included more than 80 games. At the age of 30, in 2007 he returned to his homeland in "Energy" from Elektrenaya, for which he now stands.

Team

Kuleshus made his debut in the national team back in 1996 at the World Championship in Division D. He participated in the championships of 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 in Division C (since 2000, the Second Division). In 2000, his team entered the First Division, from where it flew in 2001 after losing to the Netherlands national team 2: 3. In 2002, five wins with a total score of 71: 6 returned the team to the First Division (Kuleshus marked with eight goals and seven assists), but then she flew out again. In the 2004 home championship, Lithuania defeated all its opponents again and returned to the First Division. Since then, Kuleshus has participated in all tournaments except the 2011 World Cup. He also played in qualifying tournaments for the Olympics of Turin, Vancouver and Sochi.
