Vasile Suchu (October 21, 1942 - November 9, 2013 [1] ) - Romanian professional footballer who played the position of the goalkeeper.

Player Career
Club
Vasile Suchu made his debut in professional football in 1958 with Areshul Turda at the age of 16. He played for the club for five seasons and in 1961 won the Romanian Cup . After a short stay at Viitorul Bucharest , he joined Steaua , where he played 124 matches for the next eight years. In addition, in 1968 he won the championship , and also triumphed five times in the Romanian Cup in 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970 and 1971. He also played for Zhilul Petrosany and, finally, for Sportul , with whom he won League II and rose to the elite of Romanian football. Finally, in 1975, he left the sport at the age of 33. Ten days after his resignation, Sportul signed him as a reserve coach.
National Team
Vasile Suchu was first called into the national team of Romania on May 20, 1964 and made his debut for the team in a match against Bulgaria , Romania won with a minimum score.
Death
Vasile Suchu died on November 9, 2013 in Cluj-Napoca at the age of 71 [1] .
