Biography
Born April 26, 1911 in the city of Tula in a working class family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1938. He graduated from the 8th grade and the school of pilots of the Civil Air Fleet. In the Red Army since 1941.
In the battles of World War II from June 1941. Major Commander G. Chernopyatov, Deputy Commander of the 26th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Guard, by May 1945 made 293 night sorties for bombing military-industrial facilities and enemy troops [1]
Died of his wounds on May 9, 1945 [2] [3] . He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the exemplary execution of the combat missions of the command and the heroism and courage of the guard shown to this, Major Chernopyatov Georgy Vladimirovich was posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union [1] .
