Novopokrov is a village in the Mozhaisk district of the Moscow region as part of a Poretsk rural settlement [2] . The resident population of the all -Russian census of 2010 is 7 people [3] . Until 2006, Novopokrov was part of the Poretsky rural district [4] [5] .

The village is located in the north-west of the region, near the border with the Smolensk region , about 40 km from Mozhaisk , on the right bank of the Moskva River , opposite the confluence of the left tributary Moshna [6] , the height of the center above sea level is 223 m [7] . The nearest settlements are Mitino on the opposite bank of the river, Chernevo 1 km north-west and Ostritsa-2 1.5 km to the west.
In the village there is a church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in 1820 [8] [9] . Previously, there were two more churches: Icons of the Mother of God of Vladimir [10] and Icons of the Mother of God of the Sign [11] , which were part of the Vladimir-Catherine monastery closed in 1928 [12] . Also in the village was once the estate Novopokrov founded in 1780, from which the remains of an abandoned park [13] [14] .
