Becho ( cargo ααα©α ) is one of 11 Svanetian societies located in the historical region of Upper Svaneti on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus ridge, along the upper course of the river. Inguri ( Kutaisi province , Lechgum district ), once represented the family possession of the Georgian princes Dadeshkiliani . The descendants of this princely family survived here to this day. After Georgia entered the Russian Empire, Becho was proclaimed the residence of the bailiff (in the 1850s), who ruled Svaneti; he reports to the county governor of Lechgum County. At the end of the 19th century, there was one full-time church in Becho, there were 29 mills; there were 89 yards, the number of inhabitants reached 704 people according to the census of 1897 . From Becho you can see the pointed peak of the famous mountain - Ushba , whose peak is covered with a glacier of the same name. To the right of Uzhba there is a road to the Gulsky pass leading to the Baksan gorge of the North Caucasus.
