General Information
The population of the city is about 26,000 people. The city houses the scientific museum of water Hidrodoe and a large chocolate factory. There are also several historic buildings, including the town hall and the ancient city gates.
Transportation
Railway station on the line Antwerp - Lear - Herentals - Mol - Hasselt / Weert. Also, the city is connected to Lira and other surrounding settlements by a network of highways. Nearby are the international and national airports of Belgium - Brussels and Antwerp. Antwerp is 30 km away from the city, 48 km from Brussels. The town of Turnhout is located 18 km from Herentals.
