Description
The wing size is 21.5 × 8.3 mm. The wing venation is close to the genera Adamsochrysa , Cimbrochrysa , Danochrysa and Stephenbrooksia . Together with other fossilized lacewings, such as Protochrysa fuscobasalis , Adamsochrysa aspera , Adamsochrysa wilsoni , Archaeochrysa profracta , Chrysopa glaesaria and Leucochrysa prisca , are some of the oldest representatives of Chrysopidae . The taxon was first described in 2013 by Russian entomologist Vladimir Makarkin ( Institute of Biology and Soil, Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Vladivostok ) and Canadian paleoentomologist Bruce Archibald (Archibald S. Bruce .; Department of Biological Sciences, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia; Royal BC Museum , Victoria, Canada ). The name of the genus is given from a combination of the name of the location of the type series ( Okanagan Highlands ) and the word chrysa , traditionally used in taxonomy of lacewings. The species name is given by the name of the mother (Coltsun, Sylvia O'Sullivan) of the holotype collector (Terrence O'Sullivan) [1] [2] .
