Pharmacological action

A cytostatic antitumor chemotherapeutic drug with an alkylating type of action. By chemical structure, it refers to derivatives of bis-B-chloroethylamine . The mechanism of action is also associated with a decrease in the ionic permeability of the plasma membranes of tumor cells. Low toxicity, has a greater breadth of therapeutic action. Indications for use

For parenteral use: Laryngeal cancer and other types of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, skin cancer, skin melanoma , skin reticuloses, lymphosarcoma , Kaposi's sarcoma , retinoblastoma ( malignant tumor of the retina ).

For external use: papillomas , skin basal cell carcinomas, cancer of the skin and mucous membranes of the oral cavity.

Dosage and administration

The dosage regimen is set individually, depending on the indications, stage of the disease, anti-tumor therapy regimen.

Intramuscularly, intravenously or topically (as an ointment). For intramuscular injection of Prospidium, the chloride is dissolved in an isotonic solution of sodium chloride at the rate of 100 mg in 2 ml, and for intravenous, at the rate of 100 mg in 5 ml. Solutions are prepared immediately before injection. Children are prescribed at the rate of 3 mg / kg. The general dose for a course of treatment is 1000-3000 mg of prospidium chloride, depending on the body weight of the child, adults - 2-3.5 g. After prompt removal of papillomas (benign tumors) localized in the throat, it is recommended to lubricate the wound surface with 30% ointment for 7-10 days.

Side Effects

From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: with parenteral administration, paresthesia, numbness of the face, fingers, tingling sensation, dizziness, fainting, drowsiness, headache are possible. On the part of the urinary system: with parenteral administration, manifestations of nephrotoxicity are possible - proteinuria, cylindruria, increased creatinine, urea and uric acid. From the digestive system: with parenteral administration, appetite may deteriorate, nausea. When applied topically: hyperemia and swelling in the area of ​​application.

Contraindications

Heart failure in the phase of decompensation, abnormal liver and kidney function, vertebro-basilar vascular insufficiency.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of Prospidium chloride during pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding) should be avoided.

Liver function impairment

Contraindicated in case of impaired liver function.

Use for impaired renal function

Contraindicated in case of impaired renal function.

Special instructions

Paresthesias (manifestation of vascular disorders) and nephrotoxicity result from cumulation, in such cases prosidia chloride should be abolished.

Drug Interactions

With simultaneous use with other cytostatics, potentiation of their action is possible. Prospidia chloride potentiates the nephrotoxic effect of other drugs.
