Club career

In 1999, Sonny moved from Giessen to the youth team of Frankfurt Eintracht .

In 2010, as part of the youth team of Frankfurt (under 17 years old), Kittel won the German Championship. In the 2010/11 season, Michael Skibbe , Eintracht's head coach at that time, began to involve Sonny in the core team's training. On August 13, 2010, Kittel made his debut for Frankfurt in the German Cup match against Wilhelmshaven [2] . On August 28, the midfielder held the first match in the Bundesliga , replacing in the end of the game with Hamburg [3] . In the 2010/11 season, Kittel took part in 8 games, two of which started in the starting lineup. On April 19, 2011, he was injured (cruciate ligament rupture), due to which he dropped out for six months [4] .

On February 5, 2012, Sonny returned to Eintracht, which was already speaking in the Second Bundesliga , after an injury [5] . In total, in the 2011/12 season, Kittel played 11 games, scored 3 goals and made one assist, contributing to the return of Frankfurt to the Bundesliga. The following year, the midfielder rarely appeared on the field, having played only 6 matches.

In the 2013/14 season, Sonny is in favor of the Eintracht reserve team in the South-West Regional League . On December 12, 2013, Kittel made his debut in European Cups, taking part in the final match of the group stage of the Europa League against Cyprus APOEL [6] .

Career in the national team

Kittel's parents are from Poland. However, Sonny played for the youth teams of Germany under 16, 17 and 18 years.
