Located on the banks of the Stupchanitsa River, a tributary of the Drina , 55 km north-east of Sarajevo , 12 km south of the city of Vlasenica and 28 km west of the city of Srebrenica .

The population of the city according to the 2013 census is 2018 people, the community - 3844 people [1] .
Ethnic composition of the population of the city of Khan-Pesak at the 1991 census:
- Serbs - 3.674 (57.87%);
- Bosnian Muslims - 2.543 (40.05%);
- Croats - 7 (0.11%);
- Yugoslavs - 68 (1.07%);
- others - 56 (0.88%).
