Valentin, seeing no prospects in the Moscow Spartak, sends a telegram to Stalingrad , asking him to take him to the Tractor team, where there were many pupils of Gorlovka football. After the war began, he returned to Gorlovka. In July 1942, he received an order from the occupation administration to create a football team. It also included Boris Terentyev, Ivan Tyazhlov and the Usov brothers. The first match against the team of the German military unit, the Gorlovites lost. After the war, he plays in the position of the leftmost forward for the Stakhanovets team, which was later renamed Shakhtar. In 1949, Metallurg won the championship and the city cup, and also took second place in the zone for the championship of Ukraine. [one]
