Cadet [1] [2] :

  1. a military position to which a citizen enrolled in a military educational institution of vocational education (VOUPO) or a student ( ordinary ) in an educational institution in any military specialty is appointed (has no insignia of a cadet ) and does not have an officer military rank .
  2. the name of the soldier assigned to this position .
  3. the position of students in the higher naval and naval schools of the NKMF, MMF, MYRF, MMRF, GUSMP, MRX of the USSR is established by the Regulation on ... naval schools, as after graduating from these educational institutions, graduates were awarded the rank of reserve officer of the Navy of the USSR.

The only position in the Russian Armed Forces with insignia in the form of shoulder straps .

In Anglo-Saxon military affairs, a cadet is an officer cadet ( officer cadet , English )

History

In 1918, after the collapse of the Russian Imperial Army , various courses and schools were organized in order to prepare the command (commanding) staff in the Red Army . Students in these courses were called cadets . Later, a post for students of military educational institutions of vocational education was officially determined as a cadet .

April 3, 1973 by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR No. 81 on the shoulder straps of cadets of military schools was introduced the letter " K ". The letter “K” made of golden anodized aluminum with a height of 30 millimeters was located at a distance of 25 millimeters from the lower edge of the shoulder strap to the lower edge of the letter.

In some armed forces of the socialist states (for example, in the NNA of the GDR ) there were also cadets ( German: Kursant ).

The post of cadet also remained in the armed forces of some post-Soviet states .

Military Service

Selection

Professional applicants are selected for admission to the posts of cadets who are entering VOUPO; it includes the definition of:

  • eligibility of candidates for admission to VOUPO for health reasons;
  • level of physical fitness of candidates;
  • categories of professional suitability of candidates on the basis of their socio-psychological, psychological and psychophysiological state;
  • the level of general education of candidates based on the results of a unified state exam (USE) in general education subjects in a secondary (full) school or technical school (vocational school).

Service

Depending on VOUPO, the term of study of a student is in the following specialties ( VUS ):

  • higher professional education (HPE) - 5 years (4 years);
  • secondary specialized education (MTR) - three years;
  • Junior Special Education (MSO) - three months.

The Russian Armed Forces stipulate that the cadet of VOUPO VPO should:

  • flight , during the time of study and service to master a specific type of aircraft ( helicopter ) and have on average at least 170 hours of flight ;
  • combined arms , during the time of study and service to master military vehicles on the military -industrial college and gain up to 250 hours of their driving ;
  • landing , during the time of study and service to master combat vehicles on the military-industrial complex and gain up to 250 hours of their driving and make more than 30 parachute jumps, in various conditions.

All cadets at VOUPO are fully supported by the government ( cash allowance (taking into account seniority and quality of study), accommodation, meals, uniforms , transport, and so on).

Students are provided with free access to the place of vacation once a year.

Cadets expelled from higher education institutions for lack of discipline, reluctance to study, poor progress, or refusing to enter into a contract shall reimburse the federal budget for their military training in the amount determined by a resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation .

Salary Size

The size of the official salary ( tariff category ) of a soldier in the Armed Forces of Russia according to a standard military post, from January 1, 2012 to the present:

  • a cadet of a military educational institution of vocational education (for military personnel from among citizens who did not do military service before entering military educational institutions of vocational education or who enrolled in these educational institutions from the reserve ) is 2,000 rubles for a regular military cadet, 11,600 (minimum payment ) at the cadet of the contract service [3] .
  • a cadet of a military training unit and a training unit , technical schools (for military personnel from among citizens enrolled in training immediately after conscription on military service) 1,000 rubles [3] .

Dress code

All sorts of insignia are provided for cadets , such as shoulder straps , sleeve insignia ( vernacular vernacular) and so on.

109. Cadets of military schools (except for the Navy ) epaulets carry:

  • on tunics , winter coats - sewn-on shoulder straps with a protective field (for air force cadets - blue ) in color, with longitudinal stripes of golden color on the sides;
  • on demi-season raincoats , woolen jackets and shirts - removable shoulder straps with a protective field (for air force cadets - blue) in color, with longitudinal stripes of golden color on the sides;
  • on camouflage jackets - removable camouflage epaulettes.

On shoulder straps the letter "K" is golden. The height of the letter is 20 mm, the distance from the lower edge of the shoulder strap to the letter is 15 mm. On the shoulder straps of foremen, sergeants and corporal, in accordance with the military rank , golden metal squares are placed. [7]
