“Dartik” is a sailing schooner of the Russian Black Sea Fleet , a participant in the Crimean War .

Ship Description
Sailing schooner , one of five schooners of the “Messenger” type. According to various sources, the length of the schooner ranged from 30.2 to 30.3 meters , a width of 7.8 meters , and a draft of 4 meters . The armament of the ship consisted of two 3-pound guns and fourteen 18-pound carronades [1] [2] .
Service History
The schooner "Dartik" was laid in Nikolaev on November 24, 1837, and after launching on June 16, 1839 it became part of the Black Sea Fleet . The construction was carried out by the ship master A. Weinberger.
During 1839–1844, 1846–1848 and 1853 she took part in operations off the coast of the Caucasus as part of detachments. In July and August 1845, as a member of the detachment of Vice Admiral F.P. Litke, she cruised along the shores of the Black Sea in order to familiarize herself with the theater, Admiral General Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich , after which she went to the Archipelago where she was placed at the disposal of the Russian mission in Greece . In 1846, the schooner returned to Sevastopol .
Annually went on a practical voyage to the Black Sea during the years 1849-1851.
She took part in the Crimean War . In 1854 and 1855 she was in Sevastopol. Carronades from the schooner were mounted on the Ship side Hospital Battery.
Flooded in 1855 at the Sevastopol raid while leaving the city with a garrison. After the war, during the clearing of the Sevastopol Bay on October 9, 1856, the schooner was lifted from the bottom and sold [3] .
