Kukas (Cook) is a lake in the northern part of the Republic of Karelia , in Loukhsky district on the border with the Murmansk region .

General Information
The lake is surrounded by mountains. The shores of the lake are mostly rocky, in places sandy, rarely swampy. Fishing - whitefish, whitefish, grayling, smelt.
The lake is popular among tourists kayakers.
In the years of the Soviet-Finnish war (1941-1944) , battles took place in the area of the lake.
