Under the Qing Empire, in 1668, Sinning County was again included in the Liangshan County, but in 1729 it was restored again.

In 1952, due to the fact that Liangshan County also appeared in Shandong Province, this Liangshan County was renamed Liangping. In 1997, Liangping County was transferred from Sichuan to Chongqing.
