Biography
In 1955 he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography [3] .
In 1960 - 2004 he taught at the film science faculty of VGIK [3] . In 1991 - 2001 he headed the Department of Cinema Studies [3] .
In 1963 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of art history [3] .
In 1992, the academic title of professor was awarded [3] .
Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia [3] .
Since 1953, published on the issues of cinema. Author of several books on the theory and history of Soviet cinema. He is the author of articles in scientific collections of VGIK, in the magazines “The Art of Cinema ”, “ Soviet Screen ”, etc. [3] .
He was buried in Moscow at the Vostryakovsky cemetery [4] .
