Ticketon ( Eng. Ticket Online - “ticket online” ) is the Kazakhstan system of online sale of movie tickets and various cultural and entertainment events. The system started May 24, 2012 in the city of Alma-Ata and at the time of launch it covered 3 cinemas.

Key indicators
Currently, 17 cinemas in Kazakhstan are connected to the Tiketon system - 12 cinemas in Alma-Ata, 1 in Astana, 1 in Kyzylorda, 1 in Pavlodar, as well as 25 theaters. As of January 2016, more than 630,000 tickets have been sold since launch. From 20 to 30 thousand tickets are sold monthly through the system.
Basic mechanics
Ticketon has developed software that allows real-time display of the hall scheme and redeeming seats, synchronizing online sales with sales at the box office and preventing double sales to the same seats. The Ticketon system is also integrated with various ticket systems of cinemas, theaters and other facilities.
Sales channels include websites, a mobile site, mobile smartphone applications, and self-service kiosks. Monetization is carried out at the expense of the commission provided by cinemas, theaters and other institutions. In the case of movie tickets, Ticketon also charges a service charge from customers.
When buying movie tickets online through Ticketon, an SMS message containing a unique digital code is sent to the buyer on a mobile phone. The system sends the same code to the cinema box office software.
The buyer, having arrived at the cinema, shows the cashier an SMS message, and after checking the codes, the cashier prints out the tickets purchased by the client. In the movie theater database, this code is assigned the status “printed”.
When buying tickets for other cultural and entertainment events online, the buyer is also sent a bar code, which, when presented at the entrance to the event, is read by the controller using special scanners.
The system is used as an additional embedded service by such sites as Kinopoisk.ru [2] , Kino.kz [3] .

May 2015 - connection of the central stadium in Almaty and FC Kairat (football club) .
August 2015 - launch of sales for home matches of HC Barys .
September 2015 - connection of the Astana Astana Arena central stadium. Launch of exclusive sales for home matches of FC Astana in the group stage of the Champions League. Through the Ticketon system, more than 80% of all match tickets were sold online. [7]
