Early life and education
Jessica Brown Findlay was born on September 14, 1989 in Cookham. Her mother, Beverly Findlay, is a teacher, and her father Christopher Findlay is a financial consultant. [1] Her great-grandfather, William Brown Findlay, born in Glasgow , made his middle name part of a family name. [2] Brown Findlay attended the National Children's Ballet troupe. When she was 15, she was invited to the Royal Theater of Covent Garden for the summer season during the Mariinsky Ballet . [3]
After graduating from high school, Jessica entered the London School of the Arts. In the second year of training, she underwent several operations on her ankle, after which she announced that she would no longer be able to dance. She decided to start an acting career, which she always thought about, but never had the opportunity to try. [four]
Career
Jessica Brown Findlay was cast to star Emilia in Neil McCormick's " Albatross " in 2011. [3] At the same time, she got a role in two episodes of the television series " Bad " and one of the main roles in " Downton Abbey ." Tim Burton considered Brown Findlay to play a major role in Alice in Wonderland , but subsequently gave it to Mia Wasikowska . [five]
