George Elder Burley ( born George Elder Burley ; June 3, 1956 , Kamenock , East Ayrshire , Scotland ) - Scottish footballer , defender . Club career

In professional football, Burley made his debut at the Ipswich Town club, where he spent most of his career, along with Ipswich, he won the UEFA Cup and the FA Cup . In 1985, he moved to Sunderland , where he spent the next 3 seasons of his career. Later he played for the Scottish clubs and English clubs of the lower divisions. Burley ended his career at Colchester United in 1994 .

Team Career

As part of the national team, Burley made his debut on May 19, 1979 in a match with the team of Wales . In total, he played 11 matches in the national team, in which he did not score goals. He participated in the 1982 World Cup .

Coaching career

At the end of his football career, Burley was a playing coach at Air United and Colchester United .
