Sonata for piano No. 3 in B minor , Op. 58 - piano sonata Frederic Chopin , written in 1844 and dedicated to the Countess Emilie de Perthuis. Along with the previous second sonata, this work by Chopin is considered to be one of the most complex both technically and musically.
Description
The sonata has a similar structure to the Second Sonata, but instead of a mourning march in the third part there is a lyrical largo .
I. Allegro maestoso
The first part of the sonata consists mainly of two main themes that have no particular contrast with the exception of certain shades. In the reprise, there is no repetition of the main theme, however, as in the Second Sonata.
Ii. Scherzo Molto vivace
A glimpse of light, like a game of sunlight. The structure is typical for scherzo.
Iii. Largo
A reminder of rural life. You can hear the reflections of past parts.
Iv. Finale. Presto non tanto
The opening octaves of the final obviously do not foretell light reflections. The main theme of the continuous eighths is like a splash of all the emotions of this sonata. The last bars on the contrary indicate a happy ending.
Execution takes from 25 to 35 minutes.
