Acmaeodera aguanyoro (lat.) Is a species of gold -beetle genus Acmaeodera from the subfamily Polycestinae ( Acmaeoderini ). Distributed in the New World (endemic to Honduras ). The body is narrow, elongated, subcylindrical, slightly convex on top. Length about 7 mm, width 2 mm. The main color is black with yellow markings on the elytra. The adult fodder plant is Opuntia sp. Cacti, on the flowers of which these beetles were collected (Manley 1987: 20), and unknown in larvae . The species was first described in 1987 by American coleopterologist Gary Manley ( Gary Manley , Three Rivers, Minnesota , USA ). The name is given by location: Aguan (on behalf of the Aguan Valley ) + Yoro ( Yoro state in Honduras, where this valley is located) [1] [2] [3] .
