Alexey Filimonovich Shvachko ( Ukrainian: Oleksiy (Les) Filimonovich Shvachko ; January 18, 1901 , the village of Chopilki , Cherkasy province , Russian Empire , now Ukraine - March 28, 1988 , Kiev ) - Ukrainian film director and screenwriter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1967). Laureate of the Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine ( 1983 ). Member of the CPSU since 1950 [1] .

Biography
Alexey Filimonovich Shvachko was born on January 18, 1901 in the village of Chopilki . From 1920 to 1922 he studied at the Lysenko Kiev Music and Drama Institute. Three years later, in 1925, he graduated from the Kiev Institute of Public Education.
His career began already in 1922, when he began working in theaters such as Berezoli. After working in theaters for three years, he moved to the All-Ukrainian Film Management (VUFKU) in Odessa , and then since 1928 he worked at the Kiev film studio . He was modest [2] .
He died on March 28, 1988 in the city of Kiev and was buried in the Baykovsky cemetery .
