About the album
This album was the first collaboration between Vince Clark and Martin Gore since Clark left Depeche Mode in 1981. Clark turned to Gore via email with the idea of releasing a joint techno-album, specifying that during the implementation of the project there would be no concrete deadlines for implementation and creative pressure on one side of the other [7] . The latter, quite surprised at this proposal, agreed, after which work [8] began .
Working each in his own studio, during the entire time they worked on the album, the co-authors did not see each other in person, they only exchanged files by e-mail until all the material for the album was prepared [9] . Their meeting took place in London in May 2011, and their aim was to discuss the latest details, such as the name of the project and album [8] .
The material, prepared by Clark and Gore, was compiled by California - based electronic musician and sound producer Timothy Wiles, better known as Überzone and Q [7] . The release of the album was preceded by two singles : "EP1 / Spock" and "EP2 / Single Blip". The third single, "EP3 / Aftermaths", was released after the album. The titles of each single reflect the format of the mini-album (EP) selected for release. All the singles feature various remixes of the title tracks as bi-sides .
The album did not achieve particularly high achievements in the charts , being in the top ten only in the electronic album chart of the American magazine Billboard . Critics spoke generally positively about the album, noting the good electronic sound of the compositions and their authors' commitment to the chosen genre.
The album consists of ten electronic tracks, vocals are completely absent.
