Sports Biography

Adolf began skiing at age 7 [1] .

In 1924, Joseph Adolf represented Czechoslovakia at the first ever Olympic Winter Games in the French city of Chamonix . Unlike most other athletes who competed in several sports, Josef took part only in the biathlon competitions. The jumping part for Adolf was extremely unsuccessful. According to the results of two jumps, the Czechoslovak athlete showed only the 18th result, gaining 12.916 points. In skiing, Josef managed to show a good result, taking 5th place, showing the time 1:25:29 at the 18-kilometer distance. The amount in biathlon was calculated as the average value obtained by jumping and skiing. Having earned 13.771 points based on the results of the competition, Josef took 6th place.

In 1925, the second world ski championship was held . There Joseph performed both in cross-country skiing and in Nordic combined. In skiing, Adolf at both distances was close to winning medals, but both times remained in the offensive 4th place. In ski biathlon, Adolf was able to get into the top three winners, taking second place and losing only to his compatriot Otagar Demecki .
