Biography
Alexey Malkov was born in October 1919 in the village of Sheino (now the Uglich district of the Yaroslavl region ). He graduated from seven classes of a school in Leningrad , after which he worked at a factory. In 1939, Malkov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From the first day of World War II - on its fronts. In 1943, Malkov graduated from the Kharkov Artillery School [1] .
By November 1943, Lieutenant Alexey Malkov commanded a platoon of fire of the 386th anti-tank artillery regiment of the 9th mechanized corps of the 3rd Guards Tank Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR . Occupying a height of 225.5 on the southwestern outskirts of Fastov , Malkov’s platoon repelled 6-8 German counterattacks per day. On November 10, 1943, in one battle, the Malkov platoon destroyed 12 enemy tanks, 2 of which were personally the platoon commander [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 9, 1944, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Lieutenant Alexei Malkov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 2133 [1] .
February 19, 1945 Malkov died in battle in Poland . He was buried in the city of Boleslawiec [1] .
He was also awarded orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st and 2nd degrees, a number of medals [1] .
